"EMDR Therapy"

About: North Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership / Community Mental Health Team (Adult)

(as the patient),

I had been referred for EMDR therapy through mental health Ayrshire and arran, I was sceptical on this type of therapy for trauma related images and flashbacks.

I could not recommend this service any more, Ian was so reassuring and understanding of the situation and I never felt silly speaking to him. This was all done through video call which worked really well for this type of therapy.

Over a few weeks of working together I noticed a marked improvement in the trauma flashbacks. The therapy of EMDR worked so well. And really has made a big difference to my approach and thinking to stressful situation. The trauma related images have decreased and no longer effect my daily work life and home life.

This is an exceptional service and support that really has worked for me and I would highly recommend Ian.

Thank you.

Dear Lola1988

We are glad that EMDR therapy has been so helpful. In the North partnership we have invested in training and supervision to increase access to evidence-based psychological therapies. It is good to hear that people like yourself are benefitting from the service model we have in place. I have passed on your feedback to Ian.

Peter Ronald, Consultant Psychologist.
