"Waiting time for stent removal"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Urology

(as a service user),

I had a stent put in seven weeks ago due to a kidney stone, was told it would be in for four to six weeks.

I am now a week overdue and still no sign of appointment. I am in considerable pain and discomfort. Several times I have attended a and e only to be dismissed.

I am an assistant NHS nurse and understand the pressure we are all under. But I was not informed until last week I would have to quarantine for two weeks. So that makes my wait a minimum of NINE WEEKS.

This puts more pressure on my ward. And I am very angry and upset at the way I have been left hanging with not a single call or letter to inform me of delay. I have been patient but I need this done asap as I am in agony with it.
