"Covid and my care"

About: Rampton Hospital / Personality Disorder Pathway

(as the patient),

‘We recently had an outbreak of Coronavirus on our ward (Hambleton), I was really scared, I worry when I have a slightly cold, so when I was confirmed as having Corona virus it was really scary, but I cannot fault that staff one bit, I have never felt more cared for in my life. If I needed a cup of tea during the night because I couldn’t sleep or was anxious they would bring it to me and reassure me. They went above and beyond for the patients on this ward, I cant thank them enough’.

Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. As Matron for the Care Stream, I had the pleasure of attending the ward community meeting where the patient group shared experiences of their care during the ward outbreak and it was fantastic to hear how patients felt safe, cared for and supported throughout the outbreak. Hambleton's ward community have worked together and overcome challenges faced as a result of the pandemic. I am extremely proud of you all.

Kind regards

Kerry Burton

Modern Matron

Hi

Thank you for taking your time to send us this feedback.

I can see from what you say and what Kerry has said that your ward have come together in such a positive way. It is good to read this.

Having Corona virus and as you say it was really scary is is so powerful to hear that you have never felt more cared for in your life.

I am sure the Ward Staff and support Team will relay appreciate reading that and for you that reassurance that you had will of course meant a lot to you.

Thank you again for the posting
