My mum was admitted to Monklands hospital on hogmanay 2020 with low oxygen and high heart rate.
Mum was looked after in ward 17, the staff were fantastic. My mum was then moved to ward 2 high dependency for 1 night then taken to ward 26 intensive care, where she was put on a ventilator. Mum had very low oxygen levels due to having Corona virus back in November 2020, so scarring to her lungs, long covid.
Mum was on the ventilator for 9 days and was moved to differant areas including Theatre 3 which was being used for patients who didn't have covid as an intensive care because of the high number of cases of covid. The full time she was in a coma (and out) the staff were exceptional with calling and giving me lots of reassurance to my mums care.
My mum, once off the ventilator was moved back to high dependency ward 18 and again all staff went above and beyond in keeping me informed. Mum finished her stay back were she started in ward 17 with all the familiar faces she had seen before. The nurses are absolutely outstanding and deserve all the credit for getting my mum back to full health.
Big massive thank you from us all ๐๐๐๐
