"Accident and emergency at university of Ayr Hospital"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Accident & Emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

Took my 8 year old to accident and emergency today after she fell off her scooter and sliced open her knee the receptionist was warm and welcoming, the triage nurse Shannon was friendly and very caring to my daughter and the medical student and nurse practitioner Jillian who cared for her were both fantastic. They kept her so calm and were very friendly. They were unable to give the original treatment but discussed and agreed alternative and with their calm and caring approach my little girl got 4 stitches in a very sore knee with gas and air. She wanted me to say they are superstars.

Thank you for your post. I was sorry to hear of your daughter's scooter accident.

The staff that looked after her are delighted to hear your feedback but they also wanted me to share how brave they thought your daughter was.

I hope her knee has heeled and she is back on her scooter!

Best Wishes

Laura

Hi Laura

Thanks for your response her knee is heeling very well. As a nurse myself I felt the need to put my feedback on as all too often we are criticised while doing our job and I feel that praise is less often given.

So again thank you to everyone involved my daughter says they are all superstars.
