(as a relative),

For the last few months now the waiting times at maternity appointments have been shocking. My partner has had to wait +1 hour at least each time whilst trying to keep a full bladder. I don’t understand how the appointments run so far behind, there is clearly a staffing problem that needs to be addressed. Placing a vulnerable pregnant woman in a waiting room with other persons for an extended period of time is increasing the risk to them in contracting Covid 19. The trust needs to do something about this for the safety of patients

Thank you for your comments and I am sorry that the experience you and your partner have had, has not been as you would have expected. We endeavor to keep all appointments to allocated times but unfortunately this is not always possible and has been further exacerbated due to the restrictions imposed with the pandemic.
