"Covid 19 Treatment Causeway Hospital"

(as a service user),

I cannot commend ALL the staff in both A&E and Medical 1 enough in not only their fantastic care for me but also  in caring for those patients who present challenges in an already overstretched system.  During my 10 day admission I witnessed patients presenting very difficult, challenging and even abusive behaviour to staff.

I feel that we in society have normalised this as "part of the job". It shouldn't be. I am deeply concerned for the hospital staffs welfare after this pandemic and I would like to know that there is going to be real investment and action taken in the duty of care and pastoral care of these 'best of humanity' people in our community. It's their turn to be supported.

Dawniemcocean, thank you very much for taking the time to post your feedback about your experience during your stay in Causeway Hospital.

Our staff have been working under extrmeley challenging circumstances, not only in relation to the pandemic, but as you have alluded to, other challenges that nurses face in their day to day role.

Our staff really appreciate service users recognising their hard work, dedication and the fact they continue to provide safe, effective, compassionate care to their patients, regardless of the challenges they face.

I will ensure this feedback is shared with our teams, both in A & E and Medical 1.
