"Vaccine for disabled daughter"

About: The Ulster Hospital / Vaccination Centre

(as a service user),

I was contacted by a Covid Nurse from the Ulster Hospital asking if we were happy for our daughter to have the vaccine, she has cerebral palsy, epilepsy and a severe learning difficulty and is in a wheelchair.

My husband and I had been waiting for this day so we were delighted, the Nurse talked us through a questionnaire and explained how things would work when we took her in.

We were contacted the next day by the same Nurse and offered an appointment that day, when we got there the Nurse who we had spoken to was at the door waiting for us, she walked us straight through to a room where there was a Children’s Nurse waiting for us, she too went through everything and our daughter got her vaccine.

These ladies made the whole thing a joy for our daughter and us, we will be forever grateful for this wonderful treatment and I can’t praise the NHS and the wonderful staff enough.

Thank you.

Dear MandyJ

Great to hear that your daughter has been looked after so well.

It is so important that each person is treated as an individual and receives person-centred care that aligns to a positive experience.

Our staff will greatly appreciate your kind words. Thank you for sharing your story.

Best wishes to you and your family

Conor
