My son was diagnosed with fistulising perianal Crohn’s disease in 2020. He was referred to Dr Naismith at Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. I had been in contact with his medical secretary Karen regularly regarding appointments and information as my son was suffering really badly. Karen was outstanding in her support for both my son and I. She answered questions and arranged callbacks from the IBD team. She went above and beyond in making sure I was kept up to date at all times. But it was more than that. Karen went above and beyond, showing care and compassion for my son and I. She always asked how he was doing and how I was coping. She provided as much information as possible to me and no matter how busy she was, she always took 5 minutes to have a chat and make sure we had everything we needed. I am really pleased to be able to put this online. Karen is an amazing asset to Dr Naismith, the IBD team and the Royal Alexandra Hospital. She is exceptional at her job and a genuinely lovely person. Thank you Karen for making my life that little bit easier.
