Due to the COVID situation, my consultant’s secretary in Ayr hospital contacted me to ask if I would consider travelling to the Golden University Hospital and having my op there. I agreed to this and was referred to the consultant and given a pre op appointment, just a few weeks later. Several weeks after that I was admitted for the operation. All went very well and the all the staff were excellent. I received great medical care, the food was hot and the hospital was spotless. I would like to thank everyone for their hard work, it was second to none. I was admitted on Thursday, operated on Friday and discharged on Saturday evening. I was given all the essential information and medication required, for my continued recovery at home. It is now three weeks since my op and I am recovering well. I have had two follow up telephone calls to check on me. I would also like to thank the practice nurse at my Townhead Surgery for the aftercare. Well done NHS.
