I had surgery as an NHS patient. In the morning the staff were okay, particularly the anaesthetist. I wish I could remember his name. After surgery I was looked after by a different team. The nurse had a bad attitude with me. I know they were busy, but I also work in a hospital and I would never treat patients like this. I was sent home with a heart rate if 160bpm and a temperature of 38.2 and I was also sent home with a cannula still in. Its a good job I know how to safely take them out. I was also told iff by the nurse for hyperventilating but when the heart rate is so high it's very difficult to slow breathing! It turns out I also had covid. I dont think I caught it from the hospital because I started showing symptoms on the day of surgery but it takes much longer for symptoms to show. However, the pre surgery covid test was just taken from each nostril NOT from deep in my nose or from the back of my throat. I asked if it was an MRSA swab but I was told it was for covid. It must have been a false negative.
An all round terrible experience really.
