"It brightens my day"

My Best Life were amazing. They put me in touch with groups and I joined groups, some things like coffee mornings but also how to groups like how to use computers. Through them I joined Befriend and I volunteer now as a caller. I do at least one call a week and this can last from 15 -30 mins normally but my first call went on over an hour because we go on so well. This is helpful to me, it brightens my day, as well as to the person I am calling. Because I am shielding and my family have their own commitments as well as me its helps me to speak to my lady and I know it helps her because her family live away and are not able to visit because of Covid.   My Best Life were excellent at quickly picking up I wanted to volunteer and would be able to do this and making me aware of the opportunity with Befriend. They told me how many pension age people were missing out on social contact and I know from spending time with my Mum when she had cancer how that regular taking with someone can really help.
