Having been through a horrific ordeal at a Leeds hospital over the weekend, I went to York A&E on the recommendation of my supervisor. What a difference in care and professionalism. Everyone from the A&E staff to the staff on the surgical assessment unit to the staff in Ward 14, to the theatre staff, were all absolutely lovely. I was seen, assessed and treated with dignity and kindness. Having worked myself throughout the pandemic in health and social care, I am very familiar with the sort of treatment I have a right to expect, and the staff at York Hospital exceeded those expectations in magnificent fashion. What a lovely bunch, I simply can’t thank them enough. They are all a credit to the NHS and, in my opinion, what the NHS is all about. Thank you all for fixing me. You’re bloody magic! :-)
