"Excellent care"

About: St Michael's Hospital (Hayle)

Had right arthroscopic Subacrominal Decompression, ACJ resection and LHB Tenotomy. Very caring staff. My experience was good due to all staff, nurses, surgeon, anaesthetist, Porter. I would like to make 3 recommendations that could improve the experience. In no way is it a criticism but recommendations.

1: provide a receptacle for sickness on bed table post operation (when I felt sick luckily nurse had come to take obs and had to run to fetch one)

2: Physio to tell patients when to start excercises as well as show them how to do them( if I hadn’t have asked I wouldn’t have started them on day 1 I would have waited until taking sling off a few days later. I think my shoulder would have stiffened or frozen

3: explain on discharge how to use dressings( had to look up on internet what second pack was for)

These are recommendations not criticisms

I am doing really well and can’t thank everyone enough

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback- we really appreciate it! I am glad you had a good experience and I will feed back to the relevant teams in regards to your suggestions. I apologise if some of the instructions given weren't clear (specifically your physiotherapy instructions and information on what to do with your dressings).

I hope that you continue to recover well.

Many thanks

Shelley
