I started seeing Ruth about 5 months ago in link with my diabetes with the goal of bettering my blood sugar control and losing weight. I've been trying to lose weight on my own for about 3 years now and done really well in the beginning but have been struggling without the support. My diabetes care was awful, I didn't take care of myself at all.
Now, my A1C is now down to 7. 4, this is the lowest I can ever remember it being. I am also (as of this month) the lightest I have been in years. The support I have received from Ruth has been monumental both for my physical health and my mental health. All of our appointments have been over video call, this works well for me as I get very anxious going to hospital appointments. The video calls are great because they feel a lot less formal (as I'm in the comfort of my own home). it takes so much of the stress off of me not having to travel and wait in a waiting area.
Its been amazing to have someone to keep me motivated and on track. Even if I'm not doing great Ruth always got me back on track, made me feel better and how to recognize all my victories no matter how small. I've found working with Ruth so beneficial. She's kind, makes everything very understandable and honestly really funny, especially helpful when I'm being too hard on myself. I'm so happy and excited to continue to working with Ruth, to keeping caring for myself and losing the weight!
