"My sister and I cannot thank the team enough"

About: Western General Hospital / Cardiology

(as a relative),

Dad was admitted to Ward 51, Western General Hospital, Edinburgh mid January. He was there for 3 and a half weeks while staff treated an underlying heart condition coupled with dementia. His care during this time, by the whole team, was exemplary. Staff kept in touch with updates despite the difficulties of COVID. It was never a problem to talk to Dad and they enabled us to visit and supported us during his last few days.

My sister and I cannot thank the team enough.

Dear Aberfeldy Relative

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us following your Dad's hospital admission to the Western General Hospital last month.

Being in hopital at this time is really difficult for patients and their families. I was really pleased to read how the staff supported you and your sister and were able to keep you both updated, being able to talk to him and that you were able to be with him during his last few days.

I have shared your lovely feedback with the management team and have asked them to pass this onto the ward staff, who I am sure will be delighted to read your kind words.

Please can I extend my condolences to you, your sister and families at this time and thank you again for taking the time to get in touch with us at this difficult time.

With kind regards

Jeannette

Dear Aberfeldy Relative,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of the care delivered to your dad by the staff of ward 51 especially at such a difficult time for you and your family. We recognise how difficult it is for families to have their loved one in hospital at any time, but during this pandemic and the restrictions on visiting it is even harder. Sister Morgan and the staff in ward 51 would like to thank you for your kind words and are heartened that they were able to bring you and your sister some comfort at such a difficult time, they have asked me to pass on their best wishes to you and your sister.

I would also like to offer my condolences to you and your family and thank you again for taking the time to provide us with such postitive feedback

Kind Regards

Geraldine
