"My recovery from alcohol"

About: Inclusion Visions Thurrock (Drug & Alcohol Recovery Service)

(as a service user),

I am addicted to alcohol. I have been very ill at times either through use or withdrawals.

I love attending inclusions but the Teams meetings are excellent in light of the restrictions in place at the moment.

There's a variety of people and topics.

However, the meetings are often female dominated and the topics sometimes I can't relate to. E. g. social services and child care. But I acknowledge the meetings are a great place to discuss current issues of those in recovery.

Hi Barry

I want to start by apologising for the delay in replying to your story, this was due to leave.

Delighted to hear your positive comments about the groups on Teams and that you are enjoying them.

I get that maybe the groups do not always feel relatable to you and its good to hear your feedback. We are recruiting at the moment and part of the outcome of this would be to be offer more groups with a wider range of subjects. There seems to be a call for Women's and Men's groups too so that is something we would look to add to what we currently provide.

I wish you well and thank you very much for taking the time to tell us part of your story

Emer
