"Exceptional Treatment "

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

Arrived by ambulance to A and E due to a suspected heart attack. The staff were fantastic. I received exceptional treatment from professional individuals who were friendly, compassionate and couldn’t do enough to make me feel safe, looked after and listened to.

Every person I interacted with from doctors, nurses, students, cleaners, catering staff, porters, were friendly and went ‘the extra mile’

I was very hungry, by the evening, when I was finally, admitted to a ward, my Porter organised food for me and I was very grateful. I suffer from insomnia and all the nurses made time to chat and make my stay comfortable. It was actually a pleasure to stay there and to be waited upon!

All the invasive procedures were carried out in a kind, compassionate, manner with care to administer any procedure with the least pain and distress to, me, the patient.

I cannot praise all the staff enough.

My experience from 25 years ago pale in to significance as EDH has changed for the better and my past negative experience has been replaced with an exceptional one. Despite the pressure the staff are under, they remain upbeat, devoted, professional and an absolute joy to have had the privilege of meeting. Thank you for everything you did to get me back home again as soon as possible!
