"A quite successful venture"

About: Birmingham Hospice - Selly Park / Day hospice

(as a service user),

Because of the onset of coronavirus I wasn't able to share the health and care services of St Marys Hospice.

However I did partake of a 5 week zoom session with the staff and other patients which I found most enlightening. I must say I found the staff very friendly and helpful and I think the venture was quite successful.

Whether it could replace hands on face to face I don't know

But doing it from the comfort of your own home was beneficial.

Hello.

Thank you for your positive feedback regarding the Day Hospice zoom sessions. I will pass your kind comments to the Day Hospice team leader and the rest of the staff involved in the Day Hospice sessions. This is a new way of carrying out the therapeutic sessions, adapted in response to the pandemic and I agree is not the same as face to face. As you say there are some benefits to being able to join in from home.

If you have any other thoughts on how the sessions could be changed or improved please let me know. Thank you for taking the time to respond through Care Opinion.
