"Receiving Covid-19 vaccine"

About: Northern Health & Social Care Trust / Covid-19 Vaccination Service

(as a service user),

I arrived at the leisure centre and there was lots of signage explaining what to do which was reassuring. I was asked to stand in a very well organised socially distanced queue and instructed to sanitise my hands and put on a medical mask (in place of my fabric one). My ID and letter were checked at this stage. I continued on in the queue through to the main room where the vaccinations were taking place. At this stage I was asked again to produce my ID and to fill in a card with my information and asked if I had any allergies. I was then given my vaccination card to take with me to the next stage. I was greeted by a nurse who was friendly and advised me to remember that it takes a few weeks for the vaccine to get into your system and take full effect and that I'll need to wait for my second dose to be fully vaccinated.

When it was my turn I was directed to a booth where my details were checked again, and again it was confirmed that I have no allergies. I was asked which arm I write with and the other was chosen to be the vaccination site. There were two nurses and one measured the dose then it was checked and agreed by the other. I honestly didn't even feel getting the injection to the point that I asked if she'd done it. There was literally no pain whatsoever. After this I was told to go and wait for 15 minutes just to make sure I was OK then I was able to leave. After the vaccination I felt completely fine. My arm was a bit sore and heavy the day after and I was maybe a little tired but other than that I was completely fine and over 2 weeks on I'm still completely fine and have had no significant side effects. I feel incredibly reassured knowing I've had the vaccine and am looking forward to receiving my next one.
