"Great when you can see a practioner"

About: Chelston Hall Surgery

Whilst I appreciate that the Surgery is extremely pressed at the moment I consider it negligent to refer patients for a course of treatment without speaking to them or examining them first.

In the past three years I have been referred to A&E, by your practice, who then referred me to Devon Doctors, with out being seen or spoken to by a GP. They both asserted that the referral was inappropriate as all I needed was an antibiotic prescription. Instead I was made to wait for several hours over two days to see these elements of the health service who are also equally pressed, just to save your practice the trouble of seeing its own patient whilst the infection was getting worse.

I have been told to see a physiotherapist for a wrist injury, which I already had, and only to come back if it didn't resolve the issue. Some four months later I am still suffering from the wrist pain and weakness, The diameter of the wrist has reduced by about 1.5 cm because of the inability to use it and I have now developed trigger finger. The NHS website advises seeing a GP if splinting doesn't work, for an injection, but rather than view the issue and give it due consideration your practice palms its patients off.

I truly find the apparent lack of professionalism appalling.
