After waiting the best part of the last year, yesterday I was admitted to Day Unit at Ayr Hospital Plastic Surgery Dept. for the removal of a basal cell carcinoma (rodent ulcer) on my ankle. Nursing staff gave me best of care until my admission, rather nervously, into operating theatre. I should have had no fear - greatest of these being effectiveness of local anaesthetic. Team led by Consultant Miss Strick were absolutely wonderful - professional but calming in all areas and kept me informed
in quite a light hearted manner as to what was happening throughout the procedure. This certainly helped diminish my fear of pain, finding myself more interested in what was involved and best of all without any pain whatsoever. Would like to express my thanks to all staff involved and also a great big thanks to our wonderful NHS in what has been a very trying year for all. THANKS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY ❤️.
