Mum was admitted to wishaw hospital with pneumonia but also had terminal lung cancer. She was in ward 8. I found some of the staff to be quite arrogant and acted as if we were an inconvenience to them. These people choose this as there profession so you would expect some sort of caring.
We were called early hours monday morning to say mum was in a bad way and only had hours left she held on till the following sunday 6 days later but during that time she was just left. I asked for a glass of milk for my mum and was told "as long as it is for your mum" 1 of the nurses asked what my dads name was who passed away 6years ago and then told my mum just go he waiting for you.. this was on the Tuesday as I said mum held on till sunday. When mum was taking her last few breaths a nurse stuck their head in the door and said "is she away yet" my brother's and I are very angry why do these people choose these careers if they don't show the compassion to do the job. I just wonder how these "nurses" would feel if I treated there mum, gran, sister this way. It was a very difficult time for our family and to be treated like an inconvenience is terrible I hope they don't find themselves in the same situation with nurses who act like them.
"Mums care"
