"Ectopic pregnancy surgery"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Gynaecology Lincoln County Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I had a second ectopic pregnancy in 3 months and felt shocked alone, with my husband not being allowed in the ward.

I went for an assessment but the pain intensified greatly and I had to be admitted and operated on that night.

Wendy, who cared for me on Branston ward, was a guiding light. She could sense my despair and fear and stayed with me as much as possible. It was like having my mum there! I am so thankful for her, and the care of other staff members on Branston who treated me with empathy and respect. They gave their time to listen when I needed to offload emotionally.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback for Wendy and the ward team. I am sorry for your loss and understand this must have been an incredibly difficult time for you. I have shared your feedback with Wendy and the nurses and it was very appreciated that you had taken the time to support us in this way.

I hope you are beginning to recover and if we can be of any further support or assistance please let me know.

Kind regards

Karen Bird

Branston ward Sister
