My Dad (90 y/o) was taken by ambulance into our local Borders hospital on 28th December with a suspected stroke. (Borders General Hospital, Melrose, Scotland)
From the medics in ambulance to his palliative care he could not have received better care and attention.
In Stroke Unit/Palliative ward the nursing staff were so attentive and, as we were unable to visit him, they took our calls and passed on messages to Dad. All this was done in a gracious way.
When Dad was in his last few days he was in a side room and we were able to visit anytime. Nothing was too much bother and Covid-19 rules were strictly adhered to.
The palliative team were outstanding and, though they were short staffed and working long hours, their care and gentleness was such a comfort to us all x
