I just wanted to voice my appreciation for the excellent standard of care I received throughout my pregnancy during the pandemic. Initially from my community midwife Shannon at Motherwell Health centre who was empathetic and understanding of my anxieties (and there were many!). Towards the end of my pregnancy due to complications I had quite a few visits to both the day unit and maternity triage at university hospital Wishaw, all staff caring for me and my baby were fantastic and very professional especially midwife Leeanne. In the end, despite planning for VBAC I had to have an elective Caesarian. On the day, I was well looked after by all the staff In ward 23 UHW, especially midwife Sharon who looked after me in theatre and afterwards. She was amazing and me and my partner thought very highly of her and the care and compassion she gave us!
After initially being discharged, I was readmitted the next day due to complications and again received a high standard of care from the staff. I was upset at having to be back in hospital but all the staff were lovely and helped put my mind at rest. Everyone from the doctors to the midwives to the CSWs to domestics to the ward sister (who made us some top notch toast and tea!) were all amazing and should be very proud of the care they provide at Wishaw general! So many to remember but particularly Sharon, Jan, Irene, Marion and the two Lisa’s! Thank you all, I will never forget the patience, kindness and compassion shown to me, despite all the craziness and stress going on in the world right now!
