"Orthotic shoes at Prince Royal University Hospital"

About: Princess Royal University Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I was sent by my surgeon to have a pair of blue trainers made with a heel raise and orthotics made for the shoes. I am a size 6. When the shoes finally arrived ( about 6-8 weeks later)they were a size 5, so they had to be returned to have another pair made with a heel raise. I finally received them another 6 weeks later. When I went to collect another shoe later in the year which I had had raised it was suggested I order another pair of trainers with the heel raise. It was agreed to do this pair in  a grey. I waited 6-8 weeks and was contacted to pick the new shoes up. When I went to collect them I checked the size which this time was correct but they were blue not grey!

How can they get these things so wrong. I have now got to wait another 6-8 weeks for a new pair of shoes to be done

Hello. Firstly I am sorry for the late response to your post back in February. Many staff have been redeployed during the second wave of Covid and I've not been able to be as responsive as I would have liked to have been to your post. It does sound as if you have had a very frustrating experience regaring getting the correct pair of shoes for which I am very sorry. I will pass your comments on. However, if you are continuing to have problems please do feel free to contact me direct at jessica.bush@nhs.net I am Head of Patient Experience
