"Stress at work"

About: Lanarkshire Community Services / Adult Mental Health Services

(as the patient),

I work as a college lecturer and ended up feeling overwhelmed with an increase in workload as well as a substantial change in job role. The result was I ended up with stress related symptoms and was signed off by my doctor. I felt I was unable to work effectively and this was having an adverse affect on my personal life also. It definitely affected my work/life balance.

What was good:

I was able to speak to a professional

time was afforded to identify my stressers

speaking to someone impartial

good breadth of knowledge in the field
