I am more used to taking patients into hospital to be seen through my role as a Paramedic with the Scottish Ambulance Service, so I was very much out of my comfort zone when I had to attend as a patient myself after having a fall at home resulting in a nasty laceration to my forehead. I was booked in sometime between 18:00 and 19:00, seen within 20 minutes of arrival, and was examined and treated by a very nice Dr called Katrina. She was very pleasant and explained everything she was doing and involved me in deciding what would be the best plan of treatment for me. I eventually ended up with 5 stitches in my head wound and am proud that I didn't cry once during either the local anesthetic or the stitches, although this is probably down to the care and attention from the Dr rather than me being brave. From start to finish I was there for approx an hour and had a very positive experience of the whole process. My thanks to Dr Grays hospital and in particular the young lady who "fixed" me, Dr Katrina.
