"Gastroscopy procedure"

I was very anxious about having this procedure, especially having to make the decision on whether I should be brave and have the anaesthetic spray or have the sedation which involves a longer recovery period. However my concerns were alleviated by Nurse Shona who greeted me warmly and explained the procedure and addressed all my concerns.  This undoubtedly  gave me confidence in making my decision  to have the anaesthetic spray. I am very grateful to her as I definitely made the right decision. I was still a little anxious though,  which I am sure is natural.  However, once  I was taken into the treatment room and Mr Naqvi, Consultant Surgeon introduced himself and his team I felt more at ease and knew I was in good hands.  During the procedure I was caringly reassured at every stage that everything was going well. 

 I cannot thank Mr Naqvi and his team enough for the professional care they showed me.  NHS Scotland at its best.  Thank you Mr Naqvi and the Team.
