About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Cardiology

(as a service user),

I attended a self referral Cardiac Investigation Unit based at Altnagelvin Hospital, Derry/Londonderry. I was promptly seen by an excellent staff member called Andrew. I had a complete range of tests including an ECG. Andrew took the time to explain all that he was doing and checked that I was understanding it all. He will now follow up my results with a consultation with a Cardiologist. The whole experience was very good and speedy. I hope this unit gets the support it needs to carry out this vital work.

In short I am part of a team of experienced Cardiology nurses that assess patients referred with Cardiac conditions and in conjunction with a cardiologist provide assessments/ investigations and arrange treatments as needed.
