"Kind and helpful"

About: Kent & Canterbury Hospital

My elderly mother fractured her shoulder in april 2020. She lost the use of her arm and in November started weekly plaster casts which was organised by hand therapy and the plaster room at kch.the staff in both departments have bent over backwards to try to help my mum to be able to get her arm in a position that she can live with. I have also had to ring them with emergency issues with plastercast and they arranged to see her straight away both times.my mum also suffers with memory loss which has now been confirmed as early dementia and every visit both the hand therapist and plaster nurse have taken the time to re explain what has been done before and re explain what they were going to do on that appointment.

I wish to thank both departments for their empathy towards my mum and their kindness

Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback regarding our services. I was very sorry to read of your mother's injury and of her recent dementia diagnosis. It is very pleasing to read that the treatment provided to your mother by staff was done so with empathy and kindness. This very much reflects that Trust's values.

I do hope that your mother is now more comfortable and progressing.

Please be assured that your comments will be shared with both departments involved with your mother's care and treatment.
