"Daughter's immunisation"

About: Mill Hill Community Health Centre

(as a parent/guardian),

My teenager daughter suffers with anxiety in situations including having injections. She had previous refused due to this, to have her Polio Tetanus, Diphtheria and Meningitis injections at school. This had to be rearranged twice due to Covid 19. Her appointment came through in the Christmas holidays at Mill Hill Health Centre, Huddersfield. She was ok before we got there, but once there and in the consulting room she started with a severe panic attack. She wanted to leave straight away. However Bev and her colleague did so well, patiently explaining the reasons for having the injections and giving her breathing techniques for the panic attack.

It took time but she had both injections and felt so relieved to have have them. She commented many times how lovely and patient they had been with her. As a parent, their help she had to get through it from them was fantastic.
