About: Victoria Park Medical Centre

Today 13/01/2021 I rang at 08.15 to have a consultation with a doctor about the tablets I am on for diverticulitis which are not working. The doctor rang me and left a message saying ring reception and tell them to let the doctor know I am home. I rang the reception at 11.00am the woman said I will put it down then hung up. It is now 15.00 not heard from anyone. Why can't you see a doctor. There are loads of doctors nurses and ambulance staff seeing people all day and their on less wages. I know that covid is very dangerous but there is ppe. This must be very annoying for the patients who pays their wages out of the tax they pay.

We are sorry that you felt your experience was not satisfactory on this occasion. Having checked our records, we can see that the GP called you twice times yesterday, without success. We are very much ‘open for business’ however, a GP will telephone first to ascertain if the issue can be dealt with over the telephone. If clinical need dictates that you need to be seen, you will be offered a face to face appointment the same day. We do advise that the GP will only try twice and that patients should stay by the phone or keep their mobile with them as the GPs are making a significant number of calls each day.

If you wish to make a formal complaint you can contact me (Practice Manager) on 01278 437100 or write to me at the Practice address.
