"Lost referral "

We are feeling very unhappy following taking out 14 months old to the GP who was fantastic and referred us for an urgent two week appointment for his back. Unfortunately the referral appears to have been lost in the system somewhere. When speaking to admin they have said the referral has been received. They couldn’t tell me where the referral was made to. They sent the referral again and confirmed it was received again, but again couldn’t tell me where. After calling dolphin ward to try and find out myself what had happened with the appointment they said it wasn’t with them and to try authopeadics. We have now called them who also don’t seem to have the referral and we are no further along with finding what is happening with his appointment. This is very frustrating as you can probably empathise, we are very concerned. Admin at the surgery seemed quite unconcerned with the situation. Working in the NHS myself as a practitioner I would expect to be informed of such a situation so I could look into this. We would really appreciate some support in resolving the situation. We have now called about 3 times explaining the situation. As his GP I hope you can help with resolving this.
