(as the patient),

When offered two appointments three days apart, I explained that due to my condition/disability and rural location, I would be unable to attend both, with only a three day interval and asked either two appointments on the same day, or for a slightly longer interval in between to recover .... I was then told that my record would now show that I had “refused treatment “ and that if I wanted the full body CT scan that I need, I would have to go through the entire, lengthy referral process from the beginning..... I understand that there are logistical problems for hospitals currently... But to be labelled as someone who has   “Refused” important treatment, simply because of my condition, feels insulting and discriminatory...

Thank you for your comments via Care Opinion. We are very sorry that you didn’t feel our service met your expectations in relation to the CT scan and the other appointment you referred to.

We would very much like to assist and to ensure that we do everything within our power to answer your queries. However, to do so, we will require further information please.

If you would like to contact the Radiology Department at Pilgrim Hospital via 01205 445482 (Reception desk) and ask to speak to the Radiology Manager, we will be able to the see nature of the ‘other’ appointment, and plan your CT scan in accordance with the disability and personal circumstances you describe.
