"poor and potentially dangerous practise "

About: Lee-on-the-Solent Health Centre

I was shocked that being a long term patient with a lung disease and also being a elderly vulnerable person when i contacted my surgery through the 111 service due to what has turned out to be pericarditis ,i was turned away from my own surgery and sent to a (hot health centre) covid patients attending this clinic, because it was deemed there was a outside chance i may have covid! even the doctor i saw said this was not really a sensible idea and couldn't understand why my surgery had done this as my symptoms were not suggestive of covid. in fact it was more likely i could pick up this nasty problem than attending my own surgery, putting me in a even more dangerous situation.

I understand no one wants to be put into direct contact with someone who is showing clear signs of this insidious virus but to turn away patients who are in all reality not suffering with it is in my view jeopardising patients safety as opposed to giving the surgery's basic care to there own patients.

having said the latter i would like to praise and thank the brave doctors and nurses in all our hospitals, putting themselves at risk with this problem day in day out for such a long time now ,a big thankyou to all these selfless individuals
