"CT Scan at Louisa Jordan"

About: NHS Louisa Jordan

(as a service user),

I was given an appointment for a CT scan at the new Louisa Jordan at the SECC. I was very nervous about this and the lack of resources or equipment this type of facility may have. Both the parking attendants and the security staff were very helpful upon our arrival and I was very pleased that everyone entering the building was being asked lots of questions about any potential Covid symptoms or exposure, as this is not happening at my local hospital. I did not have to wait long for my scan, which as just as well as the main corridor is very cold and drafty, however this may have been the result of the frosty weather.

Stephanie and Lee did my scan and I could not fault either of them. I was very anxious about the whole situation. They went out of their way to reassure me and take their time to explain what was going to happen. They were both exceptionally understanding and were able to help me relax during my scan. I’m incredibly thankful to them both for their kindness and compassion.

I was very impressed by the set up at the Louisa Jordan and wouldn’t hesitate to take another appointment here if I needed one.

Dear Oriongb38

Thanks for getting in touch via Care Opinion.

I can appreciate your initial worries about attending the Louisa Jordan for your appointment, but I’m glad that your appointment went well and that you were very impressed. Many people are anxious when having a scan, so it is good to hear that Stephanie and Lee were reassuring, kind and compassionate.

Many thanks and best wishes

Nicole

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience of attending the Louisa Jordan for a CT scan. It is always daunting to come to a site which you are not familiar with.

I will ensure that the radiographers know how much you appreciated the time they took to put you at ease and explain the procedure to you.

I will also pass your thanks on to others in the team who assisted you during the time you were here.

I am sorry that the main corridor beside CT was cold and drafty when you were here and as you say this was worse because of the cold weather. Our estates and facilities staff try to keep the area as warm as possible but unfortunately with the inclement weather this is not always possible

Best Wishes
