"Very poor receptionist services"

About: Sidcup Medical Centre

I had to take sample for a test, I took the test kit home, took the sample, then received a call a few days later that I need to redo the test because they couldn't find my kit. The receptionist didn't tell me that I need to fit a sticker to the test tube, hence my test kit was lost. I go and pick up another kit, I go back to drop it only to be told they can be collected only if they are brought in before 1pm.

Why is it so hard for the receptionists to tell you clearly what you need to do and when? We're in Tier 4, and medical professionals have no issue asking you to go out, and I would expect more care, not to mention professionalism.

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that you have felt the need to complain.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to you and have sent a reminder to all staff to ensure that patients are advised correctly about the process for samples. We are taking patient and staff safety seriously during the pandemic and only ask patients to attend the surgery if required. All other care that can be delivered by video call/telephone is managed accordingly.

Once again we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Regards,

Tina Khanna

Chief Operating Officer
