"Fantastic paramedics, doctors and nurses"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Accidents & Emergency Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as a service user),

Just so blown away by the care I received after falling ill at home in January 2021. The first responder came first he was so calm and immediately made me feel at ease.

Then the ambulance crew came. Total gentlemen. Nothing was a bother to them they were so professional and courteous. So attentive to me. They were from Magherafelt and had been sent to me in Newtownabbey. There were 3 of them I guessed one was training such lovely guys. One of them was called Cormac I didn’t remember the other twos names but can’t thank them enough for their care.

Arriving in Antrim hospital cormac made sure I was cared for until the docs were free. I felt very anxious because my family couldn’t come with me because of covid. But I needn’t have worried when I had such great people looking after me.

I then proceeded to be given excellent attention by the doctors and nurses. The wee nurses are run of their feet. Yet remain so pleasant and professional. I just want to say a very big ThAnkyou to the paramedics, nurses and the doctors for making me well. I am totally blown away with your attitudes in these-difficult   times. You truly are angels. We are so lucky to have the NHS. I feel very humbled by the care you all gave me .. ThAnkyou so much x

Dear Forever grateful

My name is Rachel and I am the NIAS Care Opinion facilitator.

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell your story. I have alerted the station supervisor in Magerafelt to your story and she will ensure that Cormac and his colleagues get to hear your kind words and know that they made such a difference to you at such a difficult time. They will be delighted to hear that you are well again.

I hope that your recovery continues and you remain in good health

Rachel
