"Early Breast Cancer Detection"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Breast Clinic West Scotland Breast Screening Centre

(as a service user),

I posted a heartfelt thank you to the NHS following detection of a small breast cancer tumour at routine screening.   The overwhelming response from women in the community saying that they had cancelled but they would now go prompted an STV News journalist to get in touch with me.  They wanted to run my story to help raise awareness.

This is my tiny way of paying back the amazing service that the West of Scotland Breast Screening and Mrs Lanagan and the Breast Team at Wishaw General provide.  I am not out of the woods yet having just had surgery last week and let’s hope I have not tempted my own fate but I wanted to do something constructive and positive about spreading the importance of early breast cancer detection and the need for reassurance surrounding it.

Thank you NHS is just not enough 💙

Good morning Lesley O

Many thanks for taking the time to acknowledge the treatment and care you received from Mrs Lanagan and the Breast Team at University Hospital Wishaw.

The team work extremely hard to provide patients with an extremely high standard of care and compassion whilst attending for procedures.

It will be my pleasure to share your feedback with the team who will be delighted with your kind words of encouragement.

I wish you all the very best for the future.

Best wishes

Jean
