Epileptic daughter with 2nd bad dose of tonsillitis in a month, very quick video consultation arranged by receptionist. GP saw pictures and advised rapid visit to A+E, daughter said GP was "lovely".
Daughter sent to walk in centre at A+E and despite explaining her problem was treated in an off hand manner and given a script.
Script taken to local chemist and I was disgusted to find the issued meds were the type my daughter could not take. Chemist advised talking to WGMC which was done, again the receptionist was brilliant and we were given a telephone appointment then a visit to see a GP- WITHIN AN HOUR.
GP wrote a letter and told us to go straight back to A+E which we did. Daughter was then admitted and given 2 kinds of IV antibiotics plus IV fluids and stayed on a ward FOR 3 DAYS.
The initial diagnosis by the first GP was spot on but apparently she was "gutted" to learn our daughter had to see another GP. A+E messed up- not her.
I cant praise everybody at WGMC enough and would also like to say a big THANKYOU to the receptionists for putting up with me while I was sorting out my daughters epilepsy medication
"brilliant support from admin and doctors x2"
