I attended the day intervention unit Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy..i went in for a lung biopsy, upon arrival I was greeted by very friendly reception staff. I was taken into the ward and allocated a bed. All the nurses were very welcoming.
After my assessment. The nurse who looked after me during my stay (Bobby) was her name, was very nice very efficient. The doctor and nurses when I went for my biopsy put me at ease explaining everything that they were going to do. Back in the ward. Bobby kept a close watch over me, to make sure I didn't suffer any side effects of my procedure. She refused to go for her lunch until I had an x-ray on my lungs, and was back on the ward. She came to me and asked how i was feeling, then did my blood pressure and oxygen. Only then did she go for her lunch.
The other nurses on the ward were just as good. Even though they had their own patients to attend they still found time to ask if i was ok or needed anything. The staff on the Day Intervention Unit worked hard to make sure all patients were kept safe. I cannot praise the staff enough on the ward for all their hard work and dedication to the job they do.
"All their hard work and dedication to the job"
