Patient story:
Nursing staff made me feel at home and looked after me. treatment was good and doctors explained my treatment to me however I feel the doctors could have spoken to me in a language I understood, I felt able to talk to any member of the nursing team and only felt that I should have asked or been made aware who my named nurse was, I had no complaints about food and staff always made food and drink available to me. Staff always made activities available and included me in things I enjoyed which made my recovery better.
Only negatives I have about the ward is that nursing staff should be aware of when patients are taking medications and that there are too many people around at medication times. Staff should be more vigilant around patients taking medications.
Patients listening to music should listen to music through headphones and music is played to loud when in the dorms, I needed a place to have quiet time and be alone however I felt this was not always possible. I felt the doctors did not have enough time for me and the spoke in ways I couldn't always understand, I felt this was left to nursing staff to explain what my treatment was.
all in all the staff at lomond helped with my recovery and made a feel as though I could help myself.
