Advertised as being open from 10am-2pm. Arrived and queued up in big queue. They just turned everyone away (including myself) after getting them to fill in form with confidential info. We were there at 10.50 for a drop in service, they said they weren’t offering contraception services today and we should have arrived earlier.
Many issues, 1) Why take everyone’s info when you know you’re going to turn them away
2) Why have a drop in service open from 10-2 if by 10.50 you can’t see anyone?
3) Nowhere to say you need to fill a form out before getting to end of long queue, you need to reach reception and then get to sent to queue again once form filled to be sent home!
4) Lady on desk initially refused to give me my details back, I insisted on taking them despite her telling me their policy is to keep them. Why on earth would I want to leave a piece of paper with all my confidential details with a service who just turned me out the door.
5) I only needed a new prescription of patch, nothing hard or time consuming.
6) Reason I’d left it so late is that my mum has died and So I’ve been preoccupied and I hadn’t been able to make GP appointment due to funeral. Thought this service was for contraception emergencies such as this but they clearly don’t fulfil service.
7) If you need to arrive at 10 then say this on website. I would have been there but somehow still think I’d have been turned away.
8) How many people, especially youngsters, after getting turned away give up and don’t dare seek further help. How many STIs go untreated and pregnancies occur due to this poor service.
