I have recently had a simultaneous pancreas and kidney transplant and would like to thank everyone that looked after me when I was in hospital and also everyone who is still looking after me.

From receiving the telephone call from the transplant co-ordination team to coming home two weeks later everyone was fantastic. I would especially like to thank the surgeons who performed the operation and to the staff that looked after me in HDU and on the transplant ward.

This is an incredibly tough job under normal circumstances but as we all know 2020 has been anything but normal!!

All the time I was in hospital I felt in safe hands , all the staff are well trained and extremely good at their jobs, I have nothing but admiration for everyone who works here.

Thank you all for giving me the best Christmas present anyone could ask for!!!

I hope things improve with the COVID situation soon so everyone stay safe and keep well.

Thank you for your positive comment posted on the NHS Website regarding your recent transplant at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. It was very kind of you to take the time to write and compliment the staff as it is good to receive positive feedback which reflects their hard work and dedication.

It was reassuring to read that all of the staff members involved in your care and treatment, including the Surgeons, HDU staff and the Transplant Ward ensured you felt safe at all times during your admission and you felt all staff members are extremely well trained in their roles.

We can assure you that we have passed on your thanks to the Director of Nursing who will share these with all the staff involved and in the meantime we wish you well with your continued recovery.
