"Great practicee"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

Had a Cystoscopy today at the Central Treatment Suite in the Lyme Building and I have to admit I was quite anxious about having the procedure. The staff reassured me and advised me to be relaxed which I managed to do. I was then asked if I'd like to look at the screen and I didn't even feel the Flexi scope being inserted and the procedure was over after just a few minutes and no pain either when it was withdrawn. I needn't have been so anxious about it after all. Thank you to the wonderful staff for looking after me and hopefully this will give some reassurance to any other male patients who are having this procedure for the first time. It does sting a little when passing water but it is to be expected and is not horrendous and easily bearable and I don't have a good threshold when it comes to pain. Thanks again NHS for providing a first class service and stay safe.

Dear Stephen

Thank you for providing your feedback. I am sure it will have a really positive influence in helping other patients who are worried about this procedure. I will share your feedback with the team who I know will be delighted to receive it.

Kind Regards
