"The brilliant care we received whilst staying in Treliske Hospital maternity ward"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Maternity

(as the patient),

My partner gave birth on to a baby boy, we were told we would have to stay in for four nights, we were very upset and stressed as we just wanted to get our new family home, we stayed on the maternity ward, The first morning we woke up and was still stressed and upset, the staff took time to make us feel comfortable and reassure us everything would be okay and it was the best place for us to be until my partners infection cleared up and they could make sure our boy was ok. Every single member of staff that supported us was excellent, and even though they were very busy, they still managed to make us feel like we were in safe hands and they were there for us if we needed anything. They Weren’t just there for us for the serious stuff, but if we ever needed advice, someone to talk too, a cry or even a cup of tea.

We will never forget the wonderful care  we have had staying with you.

A few people we would love to mention in particular are Mo - she is the most caring, thoughtful lady. She helped my partner when she felt at her lowest, when she was in pain, and managed to support her in ways I wouldn’t have been able to. She always reassured us that we were doing our best, and she knew how to make us laugh, and smile during a very worrying time. Please send our biggest thanks to her, and tell her she is incredible at her job. She is a naturally caring person.

Sheila- Sheila  was always there to give us her support and she had us laughing, and smiling during he’s times.

Tina- Tina is a very kind, wonderful lady. We looked forward to seeing her as she delivered our food. She always had a moment to stop and have a conversation with us, and she always managed to leave the room with us laughing our heads off. A massive thank you to Tina.

Wendy- Wendy delivered our baby boy. She will be a lady we will never forget. She kept both myself and my partner calm, and collected for birth. She is fantastic at her job and we thank her from the bottom of our hearts for delivering our son Noah.

There are so many more people we could mention, but everyone on the ward during our time with you one way or another was fantastic.

Hannah, will, and baby Noah.

Dear hippodj96

Hannah, Will and baby Noah

Thank you for taking time to write this positive feedback on the care you received whilst you where in our transitional care ward at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. The ward manager will ensure that those staff individually mentioned will be made aware of how they contributed to you feeling reassured and in safe hands during your stay.

It really makes our day when we receive a post like this and we are happy that we could turn a situation that you where worried about into a supportive experience.

Enjoy this precious time as a new family unit.

Take care and keep safe

Trudie Roberts
