"Visits to A & E with an infected finger"

About: Broomfield Hospital / General medicine Broomfield Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

My right index finger became infected and the Antibiotics prescribed by the GP over the phone were not clearing the infection with the finger badly swollen. Treatment was excellent during my two night stay at the hospital and went home with oral antibiotics. Unfortunately towards the end of the second course I developed a reaction to the medication and I had to return to A& E. Some of the staff remembered me from my previous visit and yet again I have been seen quickly and   treatment given.
