"Sincere thanks to all staff"

About: Maples Family Med. Pract.

I am not surprised that Maples is forward thinking in opening a secure and safe environment to examine patients with respiratory problems who think they may have contracted Corona Virus. In 2015 my husband was the victim of a hit and run RTA. Severe injuries requiring 134 days in hospital ICU and high dependency wards. On his release from hospital the staff at Maples have all been so caring, not only for the physical injuries but also the mental injuries. Losing your sight, taste smell, reduced lung capacity, metal in your leg to secure it in place and brain injury is a lot for anyone to overcome. Moving forward to late 2019 my husband had a temperature change from very high to very low. He settled down but early the following morning he had vomiting and loss of breath. I phoned the surgery and within an hour of speaking to the doctor an ambulance was at our door and my husband was taken to hospital with suspected sepsis and a lung infection. Recently in December 2020 I again had cause to contact the surgery to explain that my husband had an injury to his right cheek caused through catching his face on the corner an open cupboard door. The injury did not seem to be healing properly. On explaining the situation to the doctor a text link was received, which enabled me to upload photograph and write a short description of the injury and when it took place. Again Maples were on the ball and made an immediate referral within 14 days to see a specialist. Maples diagnosis was spot on and the specialist confirmed a basal carcinoma, which will be removed in January 2021. Renewed thanks to all staff at Maples, who are so caring and give a first class service.
